Vintage Mortician’s Cosmetics Kit
This mid-20th century mortician’s cosmetics kit includes original tools and products once used in funeral preparation. The black carrying case contains labeled glass jars and bottles of Kalon Drying and Finishing Powder, Remover Solvent, and Formaldehyde Cream, along with additional pigments and unmarked vials. A set of original brushes, showing signs of regular use, remains in place.
These kits were standard equipment for morticians, used to set features, restore color, and prepare the body for viewing. The preserved labels and tools offer a direct reference to historical embalming and restorative practices.
A notable piece for collectors of mortuary science artifacts, historical cosmetics, or medical history items.
