Our Team

Beloved Bones is led by founder Mekala, whose lifelong love of nature, history, antiques, and vintage oddities shaped the vision for the shop. What began in 2017 evolved into a full brick and mortar storefront in 2022. Over the years, she has become especially drawn to antique medical pieces, funerary and mourning memorabilia, and the more obscure or grim items that carry powerful stories. Each part of the store is carefully hand-curated by Mekala herself, ensuring all that comes through the store fits her overall vision for the space. In addition, she also creates much of the artwork found in the shop, including insect art, Victorian-style hairwork, wet specimen, taxidermy, and more.
Vincent is an Oklahoma City based artist and musician who is also the partner of Mekala, the shop owner. He sells original art prints, mixed media pieces, and illustrations mostly focused on repurposing vintage and antique imagery, paper, and frames, with themes of the old west, Victorian mourning traditions, spiritualism, Americana, and turn of the century ideas, indulging concepts like existentialism, purpose, history, and justice.
Additionally, Vincent is an essential part of Beloved Bones — contributing graphic design, assisting with hands-on projects, and stepping further into back end operations.

Sarah Davis has been a part of the Beloved Bones family in spirit for quite some time, having known our owner Mekala since their high school days. After dedicating years to the veterinary field, she officially joined our team to pursue her passion for vintage oddities and antique treasures.
In her role, Sarah blends her love of history with a warm, welcoming presence. She manages everything from social media to vendor relations and helps curate the unique atmosphere that defines Beloved Bones. She also runs her own vendor brand, Slow Burn Vintage, where she enjoys offering carefully selected books and unique finds.
Beyond the shop, Sarah is a dedicated mom of two and a proud owner of a rescue dog and a leopard gecko. In her downtime, she loves spending time with her family and her beloved rescue animals. She’s thrilled to share the stories behind every piece in our collection and to be part of the Beloved Bones community.

Olive is a vendor here at Beloved Bones that goes by the name The Mother Plant. She curates beautiful insect art with florals that replicate scenes of nature. Olive also sources many of our trinkets and a few antiques as well as plant cuttings and plant terrariums. She has been with us since 2023 when we were at our previous location and she has stayed with Beloved Bones through so many changes.

Kayla is a vendor here at Beloved Bones that goes by the name GraveLink. She hand makes earrings with bones, some incorporating chainmail patterns and beads. You can also find Kayla behind the front counter at Beloved Bones to greet you and help you with any questions you may have about the shop. Kayla recently joined our team earlier this year.
